Martha Davis and The Motels – My Last Show at Red Devil Lounge

Date: December 27, 2013
City: San Francisco, CA
Venue: Red Devil Lounge
Artist: Martha Davis and The Motels
Opening Act(s): Luce

Martha Davis and The Motels

The Motels formed in Berkeley, CA in the early 70s. They have played several shows at Red Devil Lounge in the past. With the Red Devil closing, they came back to perform there for the last time. Martha Davis may be older, but her voice has not aged. It still sounds the same as it did in the 80s.

Admittedly there were only two songs that I knew before the show, “Suddenly Last Summer” and “Only the Lonely”, but Martha sounded great the entire set. They closed the show with “Only the Lonely”. And with that, I have seen my last show at Red Devil Lounge. They are closing at the end of the year and will be transformed into a restaurant without an entertainment license.

Luce

Luce opened up the show. They are a San Francisco band whose song “Good Day” was in a few movies, TV shows and commercials. I liked their set.
