Voodoo Experience 2011 Day 3

Date: October 30, 2011
City: New Orleans, LA
Venue: City Park

My last day of Voodoo included:

FISHBONE – Ska band from Los Angeles. I remembered their song “Skankin’ to the Beat” from one of my favorite movies, “Say Anything”. Their set was a lot of fun.

THE LIMOUSINES – I went all the way to New Orleans to see this San Francisco band for the first time.

THE ONE AM RADIO – I saw this Los Angeles based band in the Toyota tent.

ROTARY DOWNS – This indie rock band from New Orleans also performed in the Toyota tent.

CHEAP TRICK – This was the first time I’ve seen Cheap Trick. Who doesn’t know “I Want You to Want Me”, “Surrender” and “The Flame”? It was great to see these songs performed live.

The Raconteurs closed out Voodoo Experience 2011. Having already seen them before, I again decided to leave the park early to beat the crowds. Overall it was a good weekend of music and food. The weather was much cooler than I was expecting especially after researching what temperatures have been for past Voodoo Experiences. But that is much better than being dehydrated and sunburned.
