Pat Benatar

Things that come to mind when I hear the name Pat Benatar – the “Love is a Battlefield” video, the three girls that “cultivated” the Pat Benatar look in the movie “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and ‘The Legend of Billie Jean”.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Pat Benatar stole the show when she opened for The Steve Miller Band. She started her set with “All Fired Up”. This got the crowd going crazy. People stood up, sang along and felt the music.

All of her hits were covered – “We Belong”, “Shadows of the Night”, “Heartbreaker”, “Hell is for Children” and more.

Before she performed “Invincible” Pat said something about how the next song was from the “worst movie ever made”. I personally think that “The Legend of Billie Jean” isn’t the worst movie ever made. That honor goes to “Gigli”. Besides, how bad can a movie be when it has such a strong song behind it?

She prefaced “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” as her least favorite song to sing. It is included in her sets because the fans take to Twitter to complain if she doesn’t perform it.

Neil “Spyder” Giraldo and Pat Benatar still have a great songwriting and performing relationship. There is no need for a fancy stage, back up dancers, or laser light shows. The power in Pat’s voice is all you need. She is a must see for any true rock-n-roll fan.
